Part of a group of negatives taken of unidentified people at a ceremonial driving a railroad spike near Nashville, Howard County, Arkansas. The railroad spike connected the Kansas City Southern Railway Company tracks to the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company tracks. Deane more than likely took these negatives during his career with the Arkansas Gazette. In the background is engine 4317.
